Crocheted Polo Wraps?

My horse ran into a low fence and tried to jump it, in the process cutting up her legs. The cuts really aren't that bad and will heal, but I want something to protect them while healing, so I went to Horse Town for some polo wraps. Turns out those little lengths of cloth are like $50 plus! I could just crochet some, but I don't know if that is a good idea or the measurements even if it is. Anyone know the answer to either of my problems?

$50?! I bought a set of four for around...$15-$20? Nice wraps, with velcro and everything -never used wraps with velcro before-.

Is there a tack auction in your town? That's were I got mine. You can also browse online stores for cheaper ones. Or even post a 'Wanted!' ad on Craigslist in your area. You should be able to find some used wraps or new-but-never-used for a good price.

I don't trust the tact auction about here...they always manage to rip me off one way or another... Craigslist would work though, I'll see if I can figure it out. I'm not too great with the internet.

Around here, you can get a set of four for $12. Have you tried whole sale tack? You can get stuff from them dirt cheap.
