The guy is checking our references on Monday. He is going to have a lease drawn off once we check out okay. Once we sign the lease we'll give him the deposit and the first months rent. We won't be moving into until June because the bathroom needs fixed, we've got to get the walls painted, the basement has a small leak that needs fixed and we want to fix the porch steps. We've got to buy a refrigerator and stove. The landlord wants to put a propane tank out there for us and he is going to pay trash & water (yea!).
We also need to rewire the whole fence because the guy said the fence is so old it's snapped in a few places. We are debating how to do that. Thinking of putting field fence on the front so the kids can't get in the pasture and won't get shocked. We'd run an electric wire across the top so the horses don't lean over the fence. We'd do the sides and back in electric and the little field that is fenced off separately. I'm thinking of a solar controller????? I'm just wondering if a solar controller is you get what you pay for or if I can get by with a 5-mile $70 controller compared to the $150 ones??
We also need to fix the dividers in the stalls because they are all torn apart. Put the barn doors back on the hinges and clear the pasture of a bunch of junk. Take down a two story old shed (?) that looks like it's going to collapse at any moment.
I need to find a farrier, somewhere that sells sawdust, grain and hay, a vet that's close and make sure everything is ready.
Looks like we are moving in June!
