Cute Kid on a Cute Pony!

I had bought a pony few weeks ago for my stepson. I was not really expecting anything but being able to lead him around for at least the first week. Well, he shocked me! This is a video of his FIRST TIME riding her. And only his second time ever on a horse. He'll be 10 this week. I think I picked out a great match!

He seems pretty confident for being a new rider! I think they will do well together :)

They look great! Not to stereotype or anything but the boys I've taught have always been the most excited and willing to try just about anything I ask of them, so much fun to work with! He definitely looks like he'll progress fast. Glad you found a good mount for him, hope he doesn't out grow her too quickly.

I've been really proud of him. He takes direction so well and is learning soft hands with ease. It makes me giggle to realize that we had to bargain with him to get him on a horse that first time and now we have to bargain with him when it's time to be done! He has even trotted with her already.

I figure that calculating for his average growth spurts so far LOL he should have a good 2 years maybe 3 with her before we have to talk him into upgrading.

What a wonderful thing for you to share with your family - he will never forget the gift you are giving him. Have fun guiding him along his journey of learning, loving, and living with horses :)

He looks great! The pony is very, very forgiving and he seems to enjoy himself. Just ask him to drop his hands and give on the reins a bit and his pony will be a lot more relaxed :) Congrats on the great match!

I also bought a POA for my grandkids and a great nephew to ride. She had lots of leg bone and stout-built enough for me to ride to keep her in line with our youngsters on her. My oldest granddaughter rode this POA on trial rides with no problems at all. She could even ride a canter on this pony. The helmet is more tad to large for her, but at least she had it on.

Great buy and they look great together, and for only his second time doing great, and the smile says it all.

He looks like quite a natural with his seat, and as Copperhead said, ask him to drop his hands, and turn them over BTW, and give a little, and no one will ever guess that he is such a newbie
