Damn Damn Damn and owwies!

Owwies.

Bloody horses are going to kill me one of these days!
Went to saddle a horse today and it decided it had never seen a saddle in its life (newly broken but I do know it has been ridden) and came out of the stable over the top of me.

I've just gotten back from A&E, I have a suspected broken scapula but the swelling in my shoulder and arm is making the pictures too fuzzy. So i'm dosed up to my eyeballs and got to go back on monday to have it scaned and re Xrayed if the swelling has decreased by then. If it gets worse then I have to go back immediately, infact they only let me go because mum is a nurse, is going to keep and eye on me and they are chronicly short of beds!
Problem is that the pain is so close to the joint that they worry I have damaged the joint itself which will be a pin and plate job if I have.
Bugger!!!

Tell me about it. Yesterday I reached down between Molly and our miniature foal to grab a flake of hay that had fallen out of the trough, and Molly reached over and bit me on the thigh, which is now purple and swollen, thinking I was the foal. Let's just say she'll be looking before she bites from now on! Hang in there!

Oh, no!! I'm so sorry that happened. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and you heal up quickly.

I'm so sorry, I hope that you get better soon, and that its not as bad as it feels or looks. So far in the 17 years I've been riding, I've never actually broken any bones, aside from a couple crushed toes, and I'm always worried that some day I will finally break something, and that it will be something really bad. I keep telling myself I need a different less injury prone job, but of course, I can't not be around horses lol. So lots of rest, some good books, and/or movies, and hopefully you'll be feeling better in no time.

OUCH!! That sounds absolutely no fun at all. I'm sporting a huge bruise across my backside thanks to a certain skanky mare...but I love her still, really I do.
