    decision =/

    I have a decision I need to make and I need your opinions on what I should do.
    I board my horse at this barn that's an hour drive away plus its starting to get to be a lot of money plus showing. But I love it there the people are so nice and all my friends are there. So if I want to keep my pony there I would have to half lease my pony and not show. Or I could take my pony to a barn near my home where it is a lot cheaper. But the only problem is the person who owns it doesn't teach lesson and i'm the only one who rides there, so it gets kinda boring riding all by myself and having nobody to talk to. So my options I have are:

    1. Keep my horse at that barn half lease my pony, ride only two days a week and not show. But all my friends are there and I love the lessons.

    2. Or move my pony to a closer barn, then ill be able to go to shows. But then I won't have anybody to ride or talk to. But I might be able to trailer my pony to the other barn for a lesson once a week.

    GAHHH! I don't know what to do. I feel like if I move to a closer barn I won't be as good of a rider as I could be. I just don't want to lose out on opportunities I could have like riding bigger horse once and a while to learn how to ride different horses. Or like I won't learn as much.

    Sorry for the long story!!

    Tough decision kiddo - the ultimate answer is up to you.

    What I would suggest is make a list and write down all the pro's and cons to help you out.

    I think you should move your horse to a closer barn, and still do the shows, but trailer your horse up to the barn your at now and do lessons and hang out with your barn friends.

    Because you would really be losing out if your couldnt do shows and what not. They are always fun! And you could meet your barn friends at the shows, and ride together there as well.

    And even if you couldnt get your pony t the barn your at now every week for lessons if you were to switch barns, then could you possibly ride one of your trainers horses? Because then you could even get a feel for other horses as your said.

    Hope this helps. But if it doesnt, im sorry.
    Wish you the best of luck!!!

    I'd bring him closer to you, maybe take him up to the other barn a few times to visit your friends and take lessons. =]

    You need to look at what your ultimate goal is, long term. Are you willing to let someone else ride your horse?

    If the decision were to me, I would be moving closer, where I can spend more time with my horse and where its closer to home. I have also been over protective of my horses and would never let anyone ride my horse

    Make a list of both options and think long term.

    Are you riding because you like being around your horse, or you like being around your friends?
