Talking Did you meet your 2010 goals and what is your 2011 resolution? :)

For 2010, my goal was to get more confident in my jumping abilities, which would allow my horse to be as well.

I'm super proud to say that not only was I able to overcome some of my fears about jumping, but my horse and I went on to win Champion of our mini trial division for 2010!!

Jumps like this one (from 2009) used to scare the buh-jeebers out of me!! Oh yes, this 6" "Intro Rider" level jump, you heard me correctly! (both my horse and I had just started jumping in 2009)

Now here we are today :)

We went up to the "Very Green Rider" level in the mini trial series and became Champion of our division! We're going to skip up to Beginner Novice for 2011, which brings me to my 2011 New Year's Resolution..

My goal for 2011 is to continue to do well at the Beginner Novice level and to actually do a REAL Horse Trial this year!!!! I want to secure a nice working canter with my horse really engaging her hind end, so that's most of what we'll be working on this winter when we can't go jump outside at all.

Alright your turn, and feel free to include pics of your goals!! :)

I am so proud of you! You've come such a long way, I cannot wait to see the two of you at BN this year!

~~~
To be honest, I cannot remember what my goals were for 2010 - I think they change so much since life is so unpredictable. I had planned to do N this season, hoping to get to T - but Nelson's hock has hindered us from doing that, so we stayed at BN.
We did very well at BN. For only doing 3 HT', we ended up with great placings overall for area 8 Eventing. Nelson took 3rd place for BN Horse - Senior Category. And I took 1st for BN Rider - Senior Category.
I had a great time though. Met so many more people, made many a new friend and obtained a lot of new aquaintences in the sport. I couldn't be more happier!
I have learnt so much through 2010, being able to ride at many clincs and to beable to audit at many clinics, it is great to take in as much information as you can from those who are far above you in levels, and encourage anyone to attend as many as they can in their area.
I'm pretty content with 2010. I am glad that Nelson is going strong and doing well thus far.
I hope to beable to attempt to bump back up to N, but it all depends on Nelson's hind end. If he can, then great, if not, then we'll stay at BN. It is what it is :)
I have to get over this rediculous stupid fear of stadium, it's becoming quite drall now and irritating - so that's a big work in progress.
My goal for 2011 is to just have a great season, regardless of what level we are doing.
My goal was to bring my qh off forehand and my paint to stop keeping her nose in air (I'm a beginner english rider, 3 trainers in year, load of money and time, zero result (and of course countless threads on forum with ranting )). Now I really want to try showing next year (although it's not even a goal at the moment, will see how it goes and what my current (awesome!) trainer will say about it).
Below 2 pics are just before my current trainer, and 2 pics from last week (4 months with my current trainer)....
Thanks MIE!! You and Nelson are SUCH a fabulous team, you're very lucky to have found such a wonderful partner!! Best wishes and I'll keep Nelson's "hind end" in my prayers! ;) Maybe this year if I can handle BN in a Horse Trial in MY area, I'll come join you at another Area 8 horse trial and we can compete right alongside each other, FUN FUN!!! (I don't think Sandie has a prayer against Nelson though LOL...she hates stadium too...I like it, but she prefers cross country a million times over staduium!)
Thanks, Hoofprints! I do remember you told me you were very lucky with your trainer as well! It's definitely tough to find a right one though! :)
My 2010 goals were shattered. I was hoping to start barrel racing on my mare, but my job hours were cut by more than half, can't find a second job so I had to sell her. And until I find that elusive second job, (which is pretty much at -10% chance) I will be horseless. 2011 im hoping to get a second job, and get the horse of my dreams (or as close as I can) and loose my extra.... baggage (food makes me happy) need something to make me happy after this sh!!ty year. And im hoping to really start barrel racing. So heres to the new year!!! *holds up champagne glass* please be a good year.
I'm sorry, girl, that 2010 was tough for you...
I wish you best luck in 2011, to get a job you like and horse you'll love! (and sometime dreams come true when you don't expect it at all... )
I honestly didn't have any goals for 2010 - I didn't even plan to buy a horse. But July came around and I bought Flash, love him to death.
Here's hoping in 2011 he takes well to a more intense training regimen and we hit up a couple of local shows!
