I went ona crazy adventure of the 20 meter circle trail ride, we even went in TWO different directions, and we trotted and we cantered. The other horse even followed and copied, so both got their exercise.
Lacey and I went on a 3 mile trail ride today. It was really fun. We mostly walked, but did some trotting and cantering. I also worked on getting her to gait since I discovered last week that what I've suspected before is true: she's gaited! I couldn't get her to rack (which is how I discovered she could gait, she randomly started racking) but I was able to get her to "flat foot," (which is something she's always done, I just didn't know it was a gait! Hahaha!) so that was pretty cool.
3 miles is the farthest we've gone so far, I hope to go 4 on Friday.
I did a pay trail yesterday because we don't have a trailer to take our horses out on trails. So I went into Liberty IN and rode an awesome old Percheron gelding...who I ended up thinking about buying. Still haven't decided yet. They only want $300 for him!
Today my friend came out and we took turns riding Annalie. She's always a blast to ride because we know each other so well.
I rode today! I'm training my 3 year old black tovero Paint filly, and we're planning on competing in her first show in two weeks. Unfortunately, she's having difficulties picking up her left lead, so we're doing major work on that. No break thrus today, but hopefully sometime in the next two weeks she starts feeling more comfortable about it! She's a total sweetheart, so much fun to work with, I'm having a blast!
The whole crew also got a nice yummy Thanksgiving dinner!
Sadly I didn't ride today. Had a FFA steak fry and meeting till 7:30. And I probably won't be riding Lakota for awhile since I'm basically re-training him from the ground up. But here's a pic and right now...he's probably out in the pasture eating. =D
