TuffRider Children's Starter Zip Field Tall Kids' Boots

Childs English Riding Boots | Tuffrider Starter Back Zip Field Boots

Can anyone please tell me the difference between these two boots? They're both supposed to be tuffrider starter back zip field boots but they look slightly different. The latter of the two links is the cheaper of the two combined with coupons, and I'm all for saving some cash. I'm a relatively new rider so I don't want to spend a fortune on boots, and I have been looking at these, but I'm not sure if one is better than the other?

The following is a link that says it's also the tuffrider child's field boots:

The pictures of the boots are what I think is deceiving me, but I want to buy cheap boots that still look nice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

*Also I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. I'm new and I couldn't decide which part this belonged in.

I was going to say the same as waresbear. They both are synthetic. I actually ordered a pair of synthetic boots for my son (field boots like those) and when they arrived, they were so cheap looking that I sent them back. I personally would spend the extra $100-$125 to get the pair of leather Tuffriders if you're on a budget. My son has them and they aren't bad for the price. I'm guessing he'll outgrow them before they wear out. It looks like Riding Warehouse does have free shipping both ways, so you don't have much to loose by trying them though!

I have had both synthetic and leather and I don't feel the synthetic hold up half as long. However, I ride almost daily, multiple horses and sometimes in the mud/rain and mucking stalls and what not. If the rider doesn't spend much time in the saddle or in mud, or in dirty horse stalls, synthetic boots will last longer. They appear to be similar quality.

Your son really needs t try them on to see which pair fits better since there is no "give" in synthetic boots. However, you'd really would be better off adding another $100 to your budget and purchasing a pair of leather field boots for him----first leather "breaths" so is better for the health of your feet, and second, the leather will conform to his feet and legs so they will be more comfortable. Back when my daughter was showing under my dollars, I easily was able to sell her leather boots but could only give away the synthetic ones that she'd outgrown.

When I was young, starting out and broke, I desperately wanted/needed a pair of show boots. With my own money I unknowingly bought synthetic leather boots because they were so inexpensive. I paid for that decision with bleeding blisters on my ankles and toes every single time I wore them. Eventually I invested in an inexpensive pair in genuine leather and now, 45 plus years later they look like new and feel like comfortable shoes. A good pair of boots can literally last a lifetime.

Synthetic boots are basically molded plastic, that's why they are cheap. They never break in, they don't breathe and they ruin your equitation. The blisters I got were partially caused by attempting to keep my heels down and fighting against the form of the boot. The shape they are formed in cannot be softened or changed.

I know that there is some difference in price but if your child is sticking with this, definitely forget the synthetics. They are literally a pain and will make your child's riding (and walking!) experience miserable. Even a good used leather pair beats a brand new synthetic!
