I have my eyebrow pierced. I am much more worried about my 7 month old son or my ducks pulling it out than I am about it getting caught while working with the horses. Don't see how it could happen though. I don't pet the horses with my face. Lol
I have never had anyone judge me for my piercing or tattoos (except one guy in a job interview; forgot to take the eyebrow ring out. Ooops!). Back in the day, before I had these, I was judged for riding in jeans. People will always find something.

I would think that if you are wearing loops or dangles then they would be at risk for getting hooked. I know that I've gotten my hoops hooked on my jacket and on my helmet and in my hair. (I only have the traditional piercing, one in each ear).

I think it's a risk you are taking by choice. If you se no reason to worry then who cares as long as it doesn't violate an ettiquette rule...

I don't have any piercings at all (i got bugged for THAT!!) :( my dad wont let me, but im used to it now. I think anything that is out of peoples perspective of "normal" gets judged, and for really no reason! I really don't understand why people are like that, and I super don't understand the situation that you're in. I see no reason that it would affect your ability to be an amazing horseman. People are funny, im sure if you asked them to fully explain thier reason behind it all they either couldn't or it would be the stupidest reason in the world!

In many job industries they require all employers to take out or cover visible piercings and tattoos in the workplace. It's possible that if these other horse people see too many body modifications, especially in the show ring, they would automatically deem it as unprofessional.

Ha ha define normal... one would get many different answers. I have a tattoo so? But here is the catch to anything that can't be covered up, or is not covered up for that matter... It draws attention to the item, can be positive or negative but nevertheless wearing certain things causes attention to oneself. Does it affect horsemanship.... lol no.

Can I just say this gave me an amazing visual?

I also have three tattoos. I've only gotten comments on how everyone likes them. My mother absolutely hates them, though, but only because her mom doesn't like tattoos. You think my grandma knows I have tattoos? Does it look like I wanna be disowned? Just take everything with a grain of salt. You'll be too busy stomping them in the dirt for them to say anything, anyways :)

Me!! I at one point had snakebites, monroe, septum, side of nose, eyebrow, and many ear piercings. When I got my first horse I only had my septum and side of nose, now I just have my lip. I do feel like a bit of an outcast at times, but this is probably just because I am not very outgoing.
