I just wanted to respectfully remind everyone that while a person might write in one tone, a forum member might read it in another! Asking for clarification might be a little more conducive to conversation than playing offense/defense. :) I think the OP was trying to be comically descriptive/pictorial in her initial description of the situation and seeking honest advice/empathy, but it didn't read that way and it offended someone and next thing ya know everyone is throwing punches! I don't mean to butt in, but I felt bad when reading everyone's insulted and hurt feelings and just wanted to say that while this can be a place for helpful criticism, it isn't a place for criticism intended to hurt. The nice thing about the Internet is that when something pisses me off, I can click that little x in the corner of the screen and head to the barn to tell my horse about it. :-p

I think it's simply rude to gossip about other people riding, cloth, etc. (as long as it's not an abuse or dangerous, and even then instead of gossiping and ranting on Internet I'd just say so right to the person). Feeling "superior" is never a good thing...

I ride in some cr*p of old pants in my ring. I don't care what other people think about me not dressed "appropriately". It's comfortable for me and that's all that matters. I'm sure I do mistakes when I ride too, but that's what my trainer is for: to critique and teach.
