Thumbs down Does it matter? I think so

OK so some of you who live in the U.S. May have recently heard about the new child labor laws going around. For those of you who don't let me fill you in. (there is no loopholes trust me) Kids ages 18 and under may not work with livestock, like cleaning stalls, riding, raising, or herding unless on a parents farm where a parent shall be watching what is going on. It also includes kids 16 and under cannot not work like doing detasseling and jobs. Also if you are in 4-H that means 4-H well might not be happening. President Obama is in favor of this new bill that is being discussed tonight.
Now ask yourself this, why have I not heard about this? Reason: (well my reason anyways) They didn't want people to know as they were afraid it wouldn't pass. The reason behind passing it, is because of accidents with 4 wheelers. Which I would like to add does not happen that often. Since this bill is being talked about TONIGHT I think we all (if you would like) should talk to our senators to make sure it doesnt get passed.
By the way im new on the forum, but I felt like people needed to know about this.
A little about me and why I feel this way, I have always wanted a horse and in the city that's a little difficult. I finally found a sweet and loving horse which I love to death. But we don't have a farm. With this new bill if it passes I will lose my job, my horse, and 4-H. If we don't have 4-H then what else can we do? Get fat sitting around being lazy.
Sorry for the long rant I just needed to let people know how this country is ending up to be.
Thanks if you read this!

I had not heard about this . If it's being discussed tonight, is it not too late? Or will the voting on it be done later?

^is this what your talking about?
I know it doesn't contain the whole bill but it doesn't /sound/ like it would affect horse barns.
But I still don't agree with it. :/

Wooow... That's complete BS. I'll be tuning in to this one, thanks for the heads up, haven't heard this one yet.

A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.

thanks, but your interpretation of the proposed changes to the law are not very accurate.

Here's a link that explains it in much more detail and with a little less hysteria. I really don't think the changes are likely to affect you at all.

Thanks Alex, that is much more clear.

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, Take another shot.
