    Because they don't have a hard tree that keeps the shape, it conforms to the shape of whatever horse wears it... we also have a treeless endurance saddle my husband loves, but I don't since ours is too heavily padded (on an already wide horse it's just too much girth for my stubby legs) plus it's not very stable. The husband slipped right off the side of her once lol. I kinda see it as a beefed up bareback pad. From using it on Bella for years, it's kinda stretched to her back and I can't really use it on our narrow stbd or my lil qh. Which is fine with me lol.
