Ya I've heard it both ways but she looks so "bay" to me aside from the line down her back and some leg barring. I've always had "plain" horses bay,sorrel or grey haha
But here in Australia bay dun and dun is considered exactly the same thing.
Dun is just a modifier so your horse has it's base colour (bay, chestnut, black) and then the dun modifying it.
The colours around here are just described as dun (for bay dun) red dun (for chestnut dun) and black dun or grullo (black dun). Plus all the weird ones for the double ups (like Dunskin - dun and cream modifier on bay)
