I have a chipper/shredder for lawn stuff, leaves and semi large branches. When I use it, it all goes to the compost pile. I should use it for the horses instead, good use of recycled material. I also have a paper shredder, never thought to use that for animals either. Guess its another environmentally smart thing to do.

Thought about it. Paper isnt that absorbant though. Amish dont even shred the paper first they just lay it down in the cow barns.

I wonder how it would work with chicken. I worry they would just eat it. I may give it a try for nesting material.
