    Electric Rope question

I have decided to go with the rope fencing and my question is if I build a pasture then decide later on I want to add to the size of the pasture, is there a way to say cut the rope at say one corner, then go about where I am going to extend it at and when I come back to the spot that it was cut at, is there a way to rejoin the wire or tie in somehow to get a connection?

Also, I want to plant some grass and I want to know is it possible that the grass will grow if there are some oak leaves present? In the are mainly where there are no trees, the wind has blown some leaves over the pasture area. I have raked and burned some off but not sure I will rake and burn the whole thing and anyway by the time I get it all cleaned off and want to plant, there might be more leaves there.
