Do you think some horse people look down on others?
Such as English rider looks down on western riders as uncivilized and/ or a bunch rough cut cowboys and wantabe's. Or, English riders are a bunch or rich snob's, whose horses wouldn't know what to do outside of a show ring.

Oh yes and horses too. I know Fras and Vida definitely look down on Shiloh and Saro. Not sure if its an age thing or an 'I know more than you' or 'I have nicer hair than you' or what....
I also think football people look down on baseball people. Not sure whats up with that. Maybe the shape of the ball?

Yeah, it happens in all diff. situations in life! A lot of people think of us English riders as snobby- yes, there are definitely riders who are snobby- same with any discipline though. I've seen/been around plenty of Western riders do the same thing, be snobby! :P But then again, there are those of us who aren't like that. :D

unfortunately, you'll always find people that put down others - - I think it's mostly for lack of full understanding.

There are a lot of people that put other's down within the breeds or disciplines, too because "their horse isn't bred right, doesn't jump right, or whatever"

unfortunate, but true!

Vida, I've noticed the same thing about football/baseball players!

This is just life. There are those that look down at others just because they are different or do different things. It happens in the horse world, in dog shows/competitions, religions, cultures, neighborhoods, etc. It usually happens because someone doesn't understand the other people, or because they got a bad first impression from a single individual or small group, or because their friends or family feel that way, etc.

It's best to stay above the fray and be open minded. Don't look down on an entire sport, culture, ethnicity, religion etc, but take each individual you meet as an individual. You never know, you might just learn something new .

People who look down on others are at risk of falling on their ****! :P

It always best to keep your feet firmly on the ground.
