When I was about 10 years old I was at my second show. I entered in a Walk-Trot Western class. I was riding the snottiest meanest pony which was green broke (not mine! instructor thought I would be fine riding him) and the pony wouldn't stop trotting the whole class. It finally stopped when he noticed the others in the middle standing and he joined them. Nevertheless my parents were mad at that instructor for even letting me ride that evil thing. It was quite funny now looking back at it though :)

Oh and I got in last place haha.

SMC, omg. Sooo funny. I'm sure it's taken you time to see the humor. *giggle*

nworkman82, yeah I have laughed about that many times since it happened, when I first told my mom she laughed so hard she almost crashed the car

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

I've busted a bra or 2 riding over the years too, but the most embarassing moment....

Our new pastor was in the neighborhood and stopped by. My hubby brought him out to the barn to say hi to me...I was elbow deep cleaning one of our stallions! Our pastor learned all about cleaning a sheath...I was mortified!!!!

I wad at a show and my breeches ripped right in the crotch. I rode, and walked around the whole day covering my flowery underwear

Lol, at my first show Molly was getting impatient having to stand in the center, and sidestepped, getting too close to another horse. The other horse kicked out, and was DQed....I felt really bad

Same show, Artie and I had just won our gaited class and were gaiting pretty slow out of the arena. Some snobby kid came up to us and told us "no trotting outside the ring!" Well, she learned pretty quick that Arthur would never be trotting anywhere....

My first show ever:
I was so nervous I didn't even notice we were on the wrong lead... I knew better so it was way embarassing! I was young and it was my first show, but I remember being embarassed the whole day! We still won the class, though ;)

Same show, different class. In the lineup the judge called for 3 steps backward... Well my horse would not stop backing up and almost ran into the judge. He was like "Thats enough. Thats enough! THATS ENOUGH!" Lol.

hmmm...lets see...

at my first show, I ran into a poor girl and her pony ( probably around 13hh; with me riding a 16.2hh elephant) while she was entering into the dressage ring. i think I managed a "sorry!"...

At a different show, I had my phone in my very shallow pants pocket while in the warm up ring. I entered the dressage ring, forgetting about my phone, and half way through it fell out of my pocket on a 20 m circle. The judge didn't notice, however, It did get stepped on, twice, and my coach was nice enough to run out into the ring and grab it before the next person came in ^-^"
