I am so happy with my horse right now that I just have to share it!
Today I was riding and there was a huge planter and tractor not 50 feet away from us on the other side of the fence, planting. Annie (my horse) didn't even try to spook or get away from it. She just stood there and acted bored to pieces. After a few minutes of standing there waiting for it to go away, I realized that a stupid Chicago screw had come unfastened and the bit was hanging out of her mouth! I didn't even realize that she was essentially without a bridle because she was responding to my cues so well. I am just so thrilled not only that she didn't spook, but that because of her behaving so well, my stupidity for not tightening the screw enough didn't land both of us in a dangerous situation.
Does anyone else have stories to share about how your horse behaved well and/or kept you both safe in potentially dangerous situations?
