Equine assited therapy/ learning. Therrapeutic riding etc... Connect here..

Hi all,

Just wanting to connect with people involved in the equine assisted development industry - either as an educator, practitioner or client...

I am building an Australian network for this to promote the field and offer networking, information, education and conferences for people in Australia.

I note that the Aussies are far behind other counrties in terms of awareness and support for the field so I'm hoping to make as many connections as possible from all around the world...

Let me know if you are involved in the field in anyway and if you are happy to connect from time to time!

I'm not in Australia, but rather New Zealand (and America) and involved in both theraputic riding and Equine Assisted Therapy. I work as a volunteer and am in school currently to work as a practitioner. I believe EAGALA has some practitioners in Australia? Here's a list of them Find a Program | EAGALA Primary Site.

I'm still not currently sure if I will be using the EAGALA system or a more riding oriented program, but I love EAGALA's methods. =)

Hi! Nice to meet you! And great to have connections in NZ!

Yes I am already in contact with many EAGALA practitioners, and will be doign their training in a week which I'm looking forward to.

I'd love to hear more about the programs you offer when you have time!

I'm not yet licensed in therapy, so I don't have my own program yet (though I'm drawing up some plans for various research studies in Equine assisted therapy as well as some ideas I have for other animal assisted therapies) but one of the groups I work with in Montana I absolutly love. I worked with Leif Hallberg who was the author of Walking The Way of The Horse. If you haven't read it I highly highly recommend it as it has a lot of awesome background, case study examples and resources.

I don't currently, but I used to volunteer at a centre for Therapeutic riding here in BC.

I'm going to help out with that in a couple of weeks as a part of my senior project on Hippotherapy, I'm excited.

Equine Therapy

Hello, I am a licensed MFT specializing in equine facilitated psychotherapy, and practicing for many years in California, and now in Denver Co.

I would be happy to share my experience and contact in this country, as well as the current state of the field.
