    Ever Felt Like Quitting?

    Ugh. Everything is falling apart! I used to absoutely love riding. I used to rather wake up in the morning and rather shovel horse **** and ride then go to school. I used to get home and be like wheres Ben{my horse}. I used to be so in love with riding and horses that I had show season planned out, colors and names planned out. I used to dream of the olympics.

    These past few weeks have turned that around. The horse I ride in lessons doesn't click with me anymore. I can't feel him, I can't find his striding an we are failing at the 3' jumps my lesson schools over. I used to excel over those! At home me and Ben have one good ride in like 20. We're out of connection with each other. I'm starting to hate riding. I was trying on tall boots today, riding Ben in them to see if they felt good. He was freaking out and after 30 minutes I broke down crying. Trying to get the boots off because they hurt and I was frustrated.

    I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm supposed to do a 2 Day Event June 5-6 but if I hate riding how can I? I still love Ben I jsut don't know what to do.

    Agreed. A few weeks off. I have broken down and cryed in my lesson before, and I just didnt want to keep riding anymore because it was so frusterating! She wouldnt take the right lead, and she wouldnt listen to my aids or anything. It was just going down hill. I wanted to get off and leave, but my instructor helped and told me how she went through rough patches in her riding too, and then I took a week off, and after that I was crawling to get back to the barn :)

    I agree find someone to ride Ben or let him have a vacation too. Maybe you will start to miss it and go back?

    I'd need to find someone to ride him cause he isn't ready for the show june 5-6 and he needs to be. But theres nobody that I really trust to come out and ride him {that has time} and my mom doesn't have the skill.

    Could you maybe just not show those dates and have someone a little less experienced come ride him?

    I guess. That's just the closest show and it'd be the easiest to get to.

    Like the others I'd say take a few weeks rest. You can relax and when you get back on, you should be refreshed ad ready to go
