Expensive Hobby

My BO just bought $32,000 worth of hay this weekend.


I need a cheaper hobby

As do we all.
But we wouldn't be able to survive long without it I'm afraid...
At least I wouldn't.

It's more an addiction than a hobby sometimes

I don't even own a horse and I spend anywhere from $700 to $1200 a month on riding lessons, or riding clothes, or books, or whatever else I have decided I need

$32,000??? How many horses does your BO have to feed?

I would think your BO spent it as a business expense not a hobby expense.

Well...yeah. She has a gazillion horses boarded on her property....

But if my hobby ever turns into a business im screwed =P

Yeah I was just about to ask too! How many horses does she have?? Wow. I definitely know how expensive horse life can be. But when I'm older and have my own farm, I'd like to keep things pretty small. Just a few horses.

At least that's what I say now. My BO has a pillow in her house that says on it, "Horses are like potato chips. You just can't have one!"

I have attempted to try to do the math at the amount of money that is spent on this bloody sport and to tell you the truth I have never been able to figure it out because shortly after starting I just get into sums that make me sick so I stop. Think about it this way tho, would you be able to find a hobby you enjoyed as much? Would you be able to find something keeps you outside in the sun, active out in the fresh air? Something as enjoyable and rewarding as this? I doubt I would :)
