I have been to a few of the competitions held in Ft Worth.
Those mustangs are very versatile and really are nice horses.
I have always liked horses with a history and if I did not have arabians, mustangs would probably be my passion.
Been to a couple of adoptions and had to really talk myself out of bidding on a few.
Am going again this year to the ones in and near Ft Worth. Shalom

Elirose and Alex-I will send you the link. I am hoping to go this year again, but, since it is my 35 yr wedding anniversary, not sure I will be able to. Last year was very exciting for sure, including scraping Emma up off the ground 5 minutes prior to the finals when Chinks (her mustang) threw her of on the pavement practicing their freestyle...so the entire freestyle truly was. He would have no part of what they had practiced, so she literally just went in and rode for all she was worth, and still got 3rd. She is one tough girl.

Remember-their mustangs will be sold afterwards. They are not keeping these. Emma kept hers last year, and I think she ended up paying about $1200 for him. If anyone is buying-Jack's mare is really nice, in fact she was the one he chose, based on her eye, etc, prior to knowing she was his. She will have a lot of fire, but he feels she will be a great one. She is 4, and Emma's mare is 5.

THe one he gets for the Mustang Million (which I would really LOVE to go to in Ft Worth, DH) will be purchased prior to training. Those are not auctioned off afterwards. His sponsor will pay and then after the competition, it will be her horse.

Have fun following-I think Emma said something about someone filming their progress also. From her page you can find several others to follow too!

If we lived close enough to it or one of them, I would love to try it.

I love that movie! It almost made me cry at the end when the trainers were selling. I actually want to do the mustang challenge but I'd fail at it and I don't think they have that in Florida lol.

The mare that won Reserve a the Ft Worth Stock Show competition sold for thousands of dollars. I want to say 17,000 but I might be wrong and am too exhausted from foal watch to look it up. So don't quote me on that one. There is incentive to compete.
I hope it really takes off and helps find homes for many mustangs. Shalom

Can Canadians not join the extreme mustang challenge?

Ssv-I don't know. You would have to check the mustang website.

DH-yes, some of them go for high prices. One of the trainer friends said one of the totally untrained ones for the big competition sold for $14k.
