fair grounds and use to the public?

Well I have asked my local fair grounds secretary if its possible to use there arena a few days a week for 2 hours max. At one time. Not when the fair is running of course but when the grounds are not being used.

(ps I understand the rules are different in each county)

If I get permission what would be the proper ettiquette to follow??

Obvisously clean up after myself and my 2 horses.
Lock up anything that has been unlocked for me

But is there anything else I should consider so I don't make a bad name for myself?

I want to be able to set up a few small jumps etc or a small barrel course just to mess around and practice some training aids. Should I bring up a liability issue with them if they don't ??

Any advice in doing this, would be much appreciated :)

Thank you

From experience, to use the fairgrounds here, there is a rental fee and you have to pick up a short term liability policy.

We are lucky to have sand arenas in 2 parks (you have to be a member in one, and free for everyone in other). I always pick up after my horse, if I use barrels or jumps I put them back, and I lock the gate when I'm leaving. I think that's pretty much it. Also sometime even it's on first-come-first-serve basis you have to share it with other people, so I just try to stay off their way as much as possible (arenas are very big, so it's not that big of a deal).
