favorite horse breeds

Hey everyone, I am bored so here's a question for you.

What is your favorite breed of horse and why?

My favorite breeds are fresians and gypsies because they are beautiful and elegant and friendly, and also tennessee walkers because they have such a smooth set of gaits and are very lovable

I have ridden and owned a lot of different breeds of horses over the years and I have to say that my favourite is the quarter horse. They have been some of the best horses for me, I like their attitude and their willingness to please or work for you. They are very forgiving and able to do a lot of different disciplines in the lower levels, a very versatile breed.
The horse I have now is a solid coloured paint and I do like her a lot. Just got her last fall and after a bad winter for riding am just getting going on her.

I like a lot of different horse breeds, but out of the ones I've ridden I really like connemaras and thoroughbreds. They both are really fun and very sweet. :)

For me it's pretty much the individual horse that matters but that being said I'm partial to Quarter horses, Morgans and Drafts. My late mare was such a sweet girl (quarter horse) even though she had attitude; I work with morgans and just love their personalities and who can say no to an 18hh puppy dog?

Even as a mule person, I have a special place in my heart for QHs, particularly the foundation-bred ones. They just have such nice attitudes and work ethic when they're trained right. I remember going to tour the barn of a reining trainer in my old hometown- they had a son of Smart Chic Olena standing stud there. I needed a mop to wipe up all the drool coming out of my mouth! Some of those horses probably cost more than a house.

But mules and donkeys are my favorite of all time, even though they're technically not horses. Just smart, friendly, and if they've been treated well and not mis-handled, they LOVE people- my mule would willingly leave his pasture mates to come spend time with me. I joked that he was so smart he would catch himself. If you learn how to communicate with them they'll be your best friend for life.

“The blood runs hot in the Thoroughbred and the courage runs deep. In the best of them, pride is limitless. This is their heritage and they carry it like a banner. What they have, they use.” C.W. Anderson

And that is why I love thoroughbreds. They are smart, strong, and determined to succeed, no matter what the task is. Once they have the right partner, they shine. Boarding at a facility that rehabilitates off-track thoroughbreds, I've seen it again and again; crazy, hot tempered thoroughbred meets patient, dedicated owner. The end result is always an amazing sight to behold.

"A rider who would trade partnership for obedience
will have to settle for neither."

My favourite is the Australian Stock Horse, which is kind of like Australia's answer to the Quarter Horse, with a few differences. There are more attractive and majestic breeds out there, but I love a quick little horse that is handy and smart, versatile and brave.

Arabians, first and always, with TB's running a close second.

I have one absolutely favorite breed and two very close runner ups.

My absolute favorite breed is the Standardbred. The Standard is a complete package, you have a very versatile horse capable of doing Western, English, Gaited, and Driving. They are extremely athletic, very sane, and a very willing/people oriented horse.

My two runner ups are the Thoroughbred, particular to OTTBs due to their heart, athleticism, and huge personalities.

Last but not least is the Tennessee Walking Horse. Love the smooth gaits, their desire to please, and their ability to go all day on a trail.

I love just about everything, and my taste changes every week but right now my favorite is probably the drafties. or the mustangs.
