I usually use horse.com, but I also love chicksaddlery and I am buying things from there now for Christmas.

Dover is my favorite, but my runners up are legacy tack dot com and equestrian collections dot com.

I order from statelinetack all the time, never had any troubles. In fact I just ordered from there this last weekend :) expect to get my stuff in a couple days!

Thanks to some gift cards I got from fair, I ordered from KV vet supply this weekend too. They didn't have too bad of prices (something on there was half the price of the same item at my tack store, plus free shipping!). The only downfall is you have to spend over $50 or you get a $5 fee added. But I never have trouble spending $50 on horses/dogs, haha.

When I was getting into english, I used Dover all the time. They had some great prices on show jackets!

Search Chicks saddelry and you'll see alot of other forum members have the same issues.
Just to many good places to shop. I go between horse.com and jeffers for general ranch and horse stuff, and horseloverz for the higher end nicer items. I am really liking them.
Darn, looks like I'm going to have to keep searching for my dream halter. :P I'll have to take a look at horseloverz!

I had a bad experience with horseloverz (almost to the point of having an accident with their equipment). And lots of fun to get a return back. So I won't deal with them again.

Horse.com and chicks are just that - cheap, low quality (I do buy grooming stuff from them though as I don't really care for the quality of my hoof picks and alike, NOT tack though).

I like Dover (we have it local), SmartPack, AdamsHorseSupply, and VictoryCanter. I did shop in ValleyVet too (very nice service), and JeffersEquine.

I usually set a 100 dollar max to spend on the ponies for Christmas [yes I buy them Christmas gifts!] but always end up going way over!

Do you think it'd be okay to order a halter from Chicks?

I love ordering from Long Riders Gear when they have what I need.
Otherwise I usually order from ValleyVet, Jeffers and SmartPack.com.

I've had a Bad experience with Big-Dee's, they sent me the wrong item and customer service was hard to deal with.
I like stateline tack and dover, but they (in general) seem to be a bit more expensive than the other places.

I've ordered some halters and similar type stuff from chicks and was very happy with them. The only thing is that you really have to look at the stuff they have close and be able to separate the functional stuff from the crap.

Which halter were you looking at getting?

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

The problem with ordering from chicks is they don't update their websight. They also don't tell you anything in the confirmation email after you order. So you will have no idea if the halter you ordered is in stock or not. After a couple weeks when it doesnt show up if you call they will tell you it will ship tomorrow. Basically just a lie to get you off the phone. It might ship but then again it might not. They will eventually get it to you though. You just have no idea when, and neither does the person who answers the phone.
