I'm 5'6'' but I am skinny. I don't much care the size of horse, I'll ride anything between 13.2 to whatever.

I ride/train horses from 14-to 17.2 right now but my ideal height for a horse/pony is 14.2-3. I'm more torso then leg so the shorter the better. It's kind of funny because my main riding horse is 16hh and my leased horse is 18+ (I haven't measured him since he stopped growing) and I can't ground mount either of them. A friend lets me ride her 14.2 and she's the perfect height but I feel short on her back.

My pony is 12h, but built like a tank. I'm 5'4 and have a very, very short torso. I feel really comfortable on her. My favorite sizes would be a stocky 12h-14h, and knowing how many great horses are around in that size range, I don't think I'll ever buy anything bigger again!

I'm 5'2" with short legs, even for my height. I like my 15hh horse

I used to lease a 16.2-ish horse and not only did I not like how I looked on him in photos, but I also had a hard time using leg aids effectively on him.

Bahaha I love big horses but no one is allowed to take a photo of little me on anything big unless I'm deliberately in short stirrups (although Brock's not bad, he's big but his shape allows my legs to drape nicely, somehow). I just look squished and stupid, and the poor horse ends up looking gangly.

14.2 is perfect for me. I'm five feet tall with short legs. I'm heavy for my size, so it's hard to find a little thang that built well enough to carry me.

My own horse is 15.3! She's way too tall for me. She has to park out pretty far for me to mount from the flat. I cannot for the life of me jump on her bareback. My legs are so short I have to ride with too long stirrups to cue her properly.

I'm 6' tall... I know I look a little silly on my 14.2 horse, but I love her to bits. I have a short torso and LONG legs (like specialty pant store long legs) - when I first got her, Éowyn was VERY green so I took her to a trainer. His daughter (who was probably 5'4", maybe 5'5") did most of the riding. She did an excellent job with her, but when I got on Wyn was very confused by my leg cues - obviously they weren't in the same place as the other girl's had been!

I have everything from 14.2 to 17.2 but would have to say that my favorite size is between 15.3 and 16.2. Just because I am on the taller side and I LOVE very long legged horses... even tho my pony has pretty long legs too for his size...
