    Feed Store Relationships?

Reading another thread got me to thinking. What kind of relationship do y'all have with your feed store? Is it friendly with good customer service, or do you get the cold shoulder every time you go in?

As for mine, I have a great relationship. She always asks me how Henny's doing and how my knee is. The feed boys always try to guess my order and are happy when they get it right, but shocked when they get it wrong I ask them for advice on their products and what would work best for Henny. I leave the car trunk/back door open and they load up all the feed before I'm even done paying! I haven't had to tell them which car is our's in years.

So, what's your feed store relationship like?

Love mine. I've never talked with any of the workers on a personal level but they are willing to answer questions and get anything I need.

Just wish they had some rewards card lol

Wouldn't a rewards card be awesome? Like "Buy 10 bags of feed, get a free halter!" Gosh, that would be great.

I also forgot to mention that the feed store owner bought my FFA ewe lamb at auction. She bought it and is using it as a breeder ewe for her daughter. :)

Our feed store is family operated, and I always shop there because I get way better service than at the tsc down the road. They have better choices too.

I have a massive crush on one of the guys at my feed store ;P he's like twice my age but I like older guys [my fav celebrity hottie is Patrick Dempsey, closely followed by David Boreanaz, both of whom are easily in their 40s, while I am 18!] and my mother doesn't mind the idea so much... I think she's cool with it because she wants the eye candy :P he is CUUUTE!

...and keeps "almost" asking me out, then chickening out at the last minute, which I think is just adorbs. Haha. "You free this weekend?" "Yeh" "Oh. Me too." "...ok" (him then me then him then me lol)

The other guys are all lovely too but it's nice to walk into a store and have someone greet you like your mere presence has just made their week. And insist he simply MUST carry your purchases, even if it's literally just a couple of tubes of worming paste. Chivalry is alive and well! He's so cute.. and has the BEST smile, which is awesome, cause I really go for a great smile. Should slip him my number next time I see him.

Pretty good relationship with my hay guy.
For feed all I have is a TSC, but they now, after initial problems, go out of their way to please me. Special orders actually come in, and quick, and they're trying to make the impossible possible. They have a rating system for each store, and all it took was mentioning once that my rating for them wouldn't be too thrilling, and all is fine

Outstanding. They know us by first name. We buy horse and cattle feed there. Willing to order something they don't normally carry and call as soon as it comes in.

Fair prices and will listen to requests to knock off a few bucks if we tell them a competitor has the same item on sale.

Ha I don't need more halters but like 1% cash back or store credit would be awesome. Oh and they always carry my feed out for me.

I absolutely LOVE our feed guy. It's a mom & pop operation that is a garden shop/feed store. He has a good network of vendors and can get just about anything I want/need without having to have a minimum order, doesn't charge extra for the special orders, and has very fair prices. He also puts up his own hay, which is FABULOUS stuff, and we have gotten our hay from him exclusively when we first brought Aero home, but it was a bit pricey to do that once we started feeding more than one and we found our current hay guy that can cut a bit better price, and has rounds which we have started using -- but I can still call Andy if we are in a pinch and he'll make sure there are some squares at the store for us to pick up. I really can't say enough good about our feed guy!
On most of the stuff we have gotten through him his prices are actually a bit lower than the other options we have around here- and on the things that are a little higher I don't even mind because I like giving him our business and I like knowing that we are supporting a small, local business.
