I rode in an arena but I could've ridden off into the woods or something and I don't think anyone would've noticed. They just told me which horse I was riding and then left me alone to do whatever. I was waiting around for a bit, thinking someone would be back out to watch me ride but after awhile of nothing happening I just got on.

They aren't a rescue. I could understand if they were but they're just a regular lesson barn. Most of their business comes from summer camp. The place kind of reminds me of a crazy old cat lady type situation, but with horses. It's like they just keep getting horses that they don't have the money or the room for but they like them so they keep getting more.

I'm really trying to make this work but it's really messed up. They tell you to ask if you need help with something but there's no one around to ask! I will stick with it for now but I'm looking for someplace else to go. Every time I go there I feel worse and worse about the place. I can't keep this up for much longer when I feel this way.

    Help!!

This is kind of a completely separate issue but I didn't want to post yet another thread when it ties in with this one.

I was looking at listings of all the barns in my area to see if I can find someplace else to ride. I was checking out there websites and I found my old horse. I used to take lessons from the guy who helped my parents find her for me and when I sold her I sold her to someone who rides at his barn. He didn't have his own place back when I rode with him but he does now and I found it. It looks like a nice place and I would think they might let me be a working student because they know me. But I don't know if I could handle being around my old horse. Just looking at a picture of her on their website is making me want to cry. I regret selling her so much and I miss her like crazy so I don't know how I would react to being around her again. But this could be a really good opportunity. The barn is really close to my house, I already know and like the people there, I would probably have better chances with people who know and like me... but she's there... I just don't know.

I would go to this new barn because if you are wanting to improve your riding the only way to do that is by riding horses yours or someone elses.
