Fell off my horse again....ugh

I haven't been able to ride for a few weeks because of back pain. Last night I went to the barn cause I couldn't resist letting my boy play in the new snow. After lunging him for awhile I decided to hop on bareback and do some walking excercises. He dodged to the right and I slid off the left. I didn't even fall hard, but I hurt my shoulder bad and my back. Getting older sucks, I don't bounce like I used to lol.

:( Sorry to hear that hb! I don't bounce like I used to either, luckily it's been awhile since I tested it out. My go to answer, hot bath with epsom salts w/eucalyptus & spearmint. Sending jingles!

I hear you - getting older stinks!! I remember when I was my daughter's age and how fearless I was about everything to do with horses.......fast forward to now and I find myself opting out of plenty of stuff because of my lack of bounce-ability. It's actually the reason I avoid riding her horse if/when at all possible - not only is she more spirited, she's also about two hands higher off the ground, if I'm going to fall I want to do so from as close to the ground as possible, lol.

Bubblewrap? Eventually you will feel it coming and be able to stay on but who wants to wait until you can stay on thru those moves. Becareful with the back that pain can stick around.

Mentally aging is good but physically it stinks. Yes it is better than the alternative. But the aches and pains I wish were not there. It stinks getting older but on the other hand I do appreciate life, never meant otherwise.
