    A Few Questions about Shetlands?

    Hello everyone!
So I've never had my own horse but I've been looking after all kinds of horses at stables for years, and I know I'm ready to.
I'm really interested in buying 2 shetland ponies which will live on the few acres outside my house. They will have an outside shelter and stables if needed.

They won't be ridden by any children so I was wondering, how should I keep them in work to maintain their health and weight, how and how often should I exercise them?

Also, I know it's not always right to speak in general terms but, are they really that aggressive/unfriendly in nature?

These ponies will be treated as small horses and NOT as dogs. They'll get all the vaccinations, hoof trimming and dental needs required and will stay on their current feed. Does this sound okay?
    Thank you!

Sounds like you are getting set up :) Most of the people I know with Shetlands train them to drive, which is very fun! I will definitely say that they need to be treated as a horse. Never ever teach them like a dog because they will take advantage of you! Haha. Post pictures of the ponies, I love seeing them.

It would be pretty cool to teach them to drive!

We had a Shetland when we were kids - smartest, most mischievous thing you could imagine. He was a perfect angel when my Dad was around, but as soon as Dad was out of sight, that pony would buck us off every time.
