Sooo, I've been looking for a horse-y job for a couple years now, ever since I graduated high school. I was offered a grooming job (dressage barn in Green Bay) a few months ago, but for several different reasons I decided not to take it.
I was just about ready to give up, and starting to regret not going to Green Bay when this job fell in my lap! I'm now working as a groom at an arabian show/training barn! Arabians are my absolute favorite breed of horses, so that's a huge plus. It's full time+, and I groom/tack up/lunge/blanket/feed horses. Eventually I will also be riding, I can't wait for that! The facility is just gorgeous, and there are currently 43 horses in training, so lots to do, and every horse gets worked at least 5 days a week! It's pretty crazy busy. I've never handled so many different horses, and have already learned so much.
I'm really looking forward to seeing where this job will take me. I feel like I'm finally on the road to a real career with horses :)
Thanks to everyone who reads this!
