First Cold Weather Ride Of The Season!

OK, so 60 degrees isn't very cold... especially when you're on top of a big warm horse and working hard.

Buck and I went on our first cold weather ride today, and it was wonderful. He was feeling frisky, and I was feeling motivated to get us both warmed up, and he gave me his fastest gallop yet! My lazy horse was eager to run. I actually had to correct him several times when he would try to trot/gallop without being queued for it. This is the horse who would be perfectly happy plodding around in a circle at a children's pony ride. If this is what winter is going to be like, I can't wait!

I love fall riding. You won't hardly catch me on a horse on the summer, but when the leaves and weather turns, you can't keep me off!

Green Broke
It was quite cold here yesterday when I went to ride. I had a hat, mittens, and a colombia with a vest on over it. I stayed warm once I started riding. And Romeo was his fairly well behaved self.

Oh, my gosh, Rusty was a complete fool when the temps went down. Last year, I couldn't get him to jump over anything. This year...last Thursday, all he wanted to do was jump. He kept trying to speed up and got mad when I made him slow down - let out a small buck, even! Rusty does like jumping, but he's usually fairly lazy. Definitely not that way right now.

My horse is the same way! We had our last show last Friday and he was having lots of fun and was very energetic cause of the cold wether. We were making great times ( we do western gaming) it was so fun especially since thenhow before he was lazier then ever before everyone was commenting on how lazy he was :P
