I just looked up this years ride calendar. There are heaps in SEQ. Here are some:

Nanango x 2
Ivory Rock
Spring Mountain

There are heaps more in other parts of Qld.
Are you interested in going to an endurance ride? If you are I can set you up with people who will help you start out and guide you through everything at a ride.

Let me know and I will give you their website address to look at.

Endurance is worth it!!!

I would love to have a look at the website. I live Northern NSW. I am not sure what type of riding I want to get back into. This might be a idea. Are Quarter Horses popular for this sport?

Go to
This is the nsw endurance riders association site it's got all sorts of info.

Also go to
This is my team's site. Have a look around it it's got heaps of interesting stuff on it.

Quarter horses aren't that popular in endurance but any horse can do it if their fit enough. Also their are plenty of trainers looking for riders so if you can find a trainer in your area you could get a ride easy.

I just had a look at your site. GEEE you do some kms !!! How long would it take to do 80kms say!

Yeah, we cover plenty of ground!!!
An 80km ride on a novice horse(a horse that hasn't done 3 x 80km rides) takes about 6hrs. The winners of a ride usually do 80km in 4hrs which is FAST!!!! They are on open horses(horses that have done at least 3 x 80km rides)

Oh, and I will be going to another endurance ride in 2 weeks!! It's at a place called Maryvale. It's only a 40km training ride. We'll be taking 7 or 8 horses. All of our teams newer riders will be doing their first 40km ride!!!(you have to do 2 x 40km rides before you can do an 80km ride)
I'm going to be doing a TPR (Temp/Pulse/Respriation) coarse there. TPR's take all of the horses Temp, Pulse and Respiration when they come in off track before they see a vet.
