First farrier visit!

Today was apollos first day getting trimmed. I've been working with his feet and legs everyday. He was awesome with me me, but I had no idea how he would act for a stranger.

Well...
HE WAS AMAZING! He made a fuss on his first foot then after he understood he was not going to be eaten he was a complete gentleman. I am so proud of our work so far. :)

His poor feet had overgrown bars and his walls were chipping a little. But my farrier says he has some great feet in there, and by his next visit will be perfect.

Now we just need some sunny days....

Good to hear! I've bought older horses that needed lots of farrier work. When you find a good one, you sure hang onto them!

I remember the first time I saw Topaz try to kill his Farrier. I ended up switching to a woman, and while he wasn't happy the first few times with her he is now compliant.

Glad you didn't have to live through the "is this farrier going to sue me." terror!
