Talking First Shot at Jumpers!

Hi guys!

Very, very, very good news! For the first time EVER me and my horse competed in jumpers! We were competing against mostly big expensive warmbloods, and here was me on my adorable $4,000 paint. We competed in level zero and got...

Two firsts and a champion! Our second course we pulled the very last rail down =[ so a little bad luck there, I thought we had it in the bag and stopped riding. Stupid me. But the rest was spectacular! My horse was SOOOOO good! I love him so much! =] I am oh so happy, it was quite possibly one of the best days of my life! Me and my mom actually started crying, and the rest of my family and friends were screaming. It was so rewarding because we have worked so hard and everyone always said we couldn't do it...I think we proved them wrong

Just thought I would share my massive excitement! YAY!

In riding, a horse's energy is like a river- guided by the banks but not stopped by them.

Congrats on the show! I love proving everyone wrong when they say I can't do something.

Sounds like you had a tonne of fun. You should be proud!

There is one principle that should never be abandoned, namely, that the rider must first learn to control himself before he can control his horse. This is the basic, most important principle to be preserved in equitation - Alois Podhajsky
