    Fortune's new barn!

I say Fortune's new barn and not mine because - as some of you may know - the barn he has been moved to is the barn I've gone to all my life. We moved him on Monday. It was pretty harrowing for him, which he showed to us in the form of sweating! When we got him off the trailer he looked almost black because of all the sweat dripping off him and the darkness of the trailer.

The next day was even worse. Fortune got very colicky. I've seen it in other horses, but this time I felt almost responsible, and quite helpless. However, we had the vet out, and now -three days later - Fortune is doing a lot better. His appetite is back 100% and he's drinking a lot better than he was.

Since Monday, I've been out to see home everyday, something I'd never have been capable of with him an hour away. I'm working tomorrow and so wont bother him much, but on Sunday I am planning on riding him for the first time since last Sunday, the day before we moved him.

This is new for me, but for Fortune "new" doesnt even cut it. He's handling everything much better than I couldve hoped for though, and today he seems almost completely back to his old self.

I just thought I'd post this for the sake of sharing. And to thank everyone - again - who offered me advice recently!
