Free Lease && Pony Club

Does anyone else free lease or lease a horse? I've never done either but I'm wondering what its like. I'm leasing one for pony club and other shows and I don't know a whole lot about either.

What do you like and not like about leasing?

Also for other Pony Clubbers, can you tell me more about it. I don't know much about either but I do want to know more before I pay a lot of money for Pony Club or jump into leasing.

I free leased a Hungarian Warmblood for about 4-5 months last year. He was a young boy who needed training and was for sale at the same time. I do enjoy a free lease because its easier then paying $5000 for a horse and then paying for board. With the free lease I had to take care of all the expenses but I didn't have to pay the owner anything. I could show, do clinics all of that. And because of the fact that it was a lease so I could train the horse I could 20% or something near that when the horse is sold.

Leases are good to me because you don't have to spend quite as much, although if you own you can make every single decision and you get that sence of "the horse is mine and will never be taken away".
