Free Lease Questions

I put up an add on craigslist today:

Looking for a horse to lease

Got a response already. Should I worry about having a contract with this type of lease? Its most likely a work to ride situation. I dont want to be taken advantage of and I want to cover my butt if a horse get hurt in my care. Ive always owned before, but I am in a different situation right now, you can read the link. What kind of things should I talk to the owner about? What kind of responsability should I expect to have?

You do realize that if you teach some lessons (you say help with lessons) you will loose your ability to show as an amateur?

I say it is always best to get everything in writing.

all the schooling shows in my area have the same rule, you get any kind of payment (monetary, material, service, etc) for teaching/training you're considered a pro.

i would get EVERYTHING in writing. there are way too many sue-happy people out there. you'll definitely want to cover your butt.

Alot of people wouldnt be showing if that was actually enforced. I'm not talking about giving lessons or training a horse. It says in my ad I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL TRAINER. I said help out with lessons.... not teach them. I mean untacking, tacking, leading ponies ect.
