Anyone own a Friesian? And why is it so difficult to find them or maybe its just difficult to find them close to where I live?

I don't own one but I would love one!

They're not all that common because 1) They are very selectively bred. Both mares and stallions have go pass tests to be approved for breeding and 2) They are very expensive horses and the majority of people cannot afford them.

How expensive?

Very, there are all kinds of scams out there for Fresians. You can expect to spend $10k plus a lot more.

There was a couple up in the Minnesota area that were a few years old going for $20-25,000.

I have seen some on craigs list for under 1000.00
But they are not like the expensive ones

Or they're scams. There are a ton of Friesian scams where it seems like a "too good to be true" price and there is no actual horse, just a lot of money theft.
