I agree^^ If they are coming over from Holland, they have to go through a lot of testing and pass to get over here. Then they have to havea breeding permit. Personally, I love the stallion Ebony Park Abe. I have seen him perform live and he just took my breath away!

Not true, one was a friend of mines for sale and another was near my sisters house in another state. These are not top quality horses. I have seen a weanling sell at a sale barn for 100.00

    Foal
Its not so much that Friesians are hard to find but the cost to buy a nice one. It all depends on what you want the friesian for. If you're planning on showing you should look at getting a Dutch registered friesian and become a member of FHANA. If you're looking to do more trail riding and around the farm stuff then a german bred friesian might be better because they're much cheaper. I'm currently in NH but we're breeding one of my mares next year and will probably try to sell the baby in-utero for about $8,000. Once the foal is born its value increases to about $10,000 and once its brought to the Keur and awarded a premie, its value just keeps increasing. Studbook KFPS friesians usually sell for about $15,000 fully trained.
    Hope that helps?
