Fugly Blog for Sale?

I couldn't find any other threads about this so sorry if there is one already going...but I just heard the news that Cathy can no longer maintain the site and is selling it. Even though I've been there to see the posts arrive later and later, it still comes as a shock to me! And quite a bit of a disappointment, it was certainly an interesting blog.
You can read the last article she wrote about it here.
And see the auction page here.

Anyone want to share their thoughts?

Yeah, I've seen it yesterday. I don't think it's been discussed here though (or I missed it too). Frankly I did like her quite a lot when she just started, but then just tired of her (as most of posts are about the same anyway). So I almost don't go there lately. Plus I don't agree with everything she says (although I do agree with most).

I won't miss her.

Her blog used to be great, but it jumped the shark several years ago.

During the last year or two she's done more grandstanding and pandering to the masses than any actual good. She's gotten strident, shrieky, nasty, and completely lost her focus about what the blog was intended to accomplish.

Blogs come and go, and that one had a good run. I wish her well in her future endeavors.

I, Too, used to enjoy her blog. I now very rarely read it unless a post is pointed out to me for some reason, then I'll glance over it. It used to be well-written and interesting, and now I find it tedious. I am shocked at the monthly revenue, and last I checked, the auction was at $7.5k and the reserve hadn't been met, which IMO is insane.
I do wish Cathy the best.

I think her website went off course many years ago. It no longer is about "fugly" horses.... it's a snark factory.

I can see where you guys are coming from, but I still felt like some of the posts could be pretty interesting and/or informational. I did definitely prefer the posts about fugly horses, though.

I would have been more disappointed if it hadn't changed so much, for sure.

Very true.

I wonder what reserve is (and if someone will pay it)...

She relisted it after the auction ended with a no-sale at $8500. It sat at $900 all week, with an $18,000 (!!!) reserve. With two hours to go, she extended the auction deadline, and it's suddenly jumped up to $4,000 and counting...

She also deleted one "negative" comment from the auction page, which basically just said, "don't expect the money to keep rolling in once Cathy leaves." Which is very, very true. All nuts.

I lost all of my respect for her after her very public affair with with breeder of her colt's SO, involving lies, intentionally bad checks, grainy cell phone pics of nether regions, and so on and so forth, as it was dragged out and about in a message board catfight...
