Smile A fun little game for all:)

Hey:) I own a 4 year old, bay, Mustang mare, and since I've owned her, I've wanted to get her registered. I have tried and tried to figure out her brand completely, but I always seem to be missing a few numbers. Here is a site on how to read the brand:

How To Read A Brand

I am not going to post what I think it is until I have gotten some replies, because I do no want to bias the responses, but after we have the number narrowed down, I will call the BLM, and we'll see who is the closest!! :) Have fun;)

Here is the brand:

Hm, lets see. This is how I read it.

Year of birth: '06
Number: 596092

At least that's what I think it is.

If you have too much trouble reading it throught the hair, you can always shave over the brand and that makes it so much easier to see.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Year of birth is 2006 (even though I read it on the brand, you kinda gave that away)
Number: 596092. There is a possibility though that that the fourth symbol was slopped and it's a 4.

Caught in NV, eh?

I brought my little notes to school with me, and I have decided to go ahead and post them. I am going to try to call the BLM tonight... money permiting:)
Here, I have it written as 5964(or 0)2(or 9)2

Both of you have: 596092

So I guess it would be pretty safe to say that it IS: 596092, with a possibility of 596422, 596022, and 596492? I dunno. Lol. I keep getting more and more confused. I am going to try shaving it soon, but I have a feeling Yazi won't like that too much. Thank you both for your help, and more opinions would be great!! :)

I know this is off-topic, but how does she like her captive life now?

Oh:) I don't mind a bit. I'm pretty confident that she likes her captive life a lot. Where I board, they have 8 individual, small lots and a large, 60 acre pasture. There are 12 other horses, and the geldings have their own small bands of mares, and there is also a cute bachelor group.:) I can tell that she's much happier in the large pasture with all her buddies because she just looks sooo bored and lonely after being alone in a lot for an ENTIRE day!:) lol. It's actually quite funny though because before they gelded their stud and began letting him out to pasture, Yazi stayed with the bachelors like a poor little misfit mare:) lol.

When I first got her, she was greenbroke, but the people who broke her that much had no idea what they were doing, so I started from the beginning. I didn't ride her for a couple of weeks. I did a lot of grooming, and I did Join-up in the round pen a few times until she would follow me everywhere I went. When I started riding her, I used a D-ring snaffle, which she ran through constantly due to her former training. Since that didn't work too well, I bought a very gentle curb bit, and she responded to that very well. I've only had her about a year or so now, so I've been keeping her really slow on trails and such. I work on her collected trot the most, and it is SO gorgeous. She is a very beautiful mover. Basically, I've kept her slow and calm, but I haven't broken her spirit. When I lean forward and move the reins up her neck, she's gone. I don't have to kick or cluck. Most of my training for her has been in seat and hand movement, but I've just started introducing leg commands. :) I dunno if that's what you were looking for. lol. But there it is:)

After reading your questions again... XD

She is a VERY FAST learner and gets bored quickly, so I'm always looking for a change in sceanery. I ride her on the roads a lot, and she doesn't mind the cars. I ride her everywhere since my truck only gets 8mpg. She's a lot more economical if I'm not in a rush:) I am just training her in advanced trail and beginning some endurance. She will go over, on, or across anything:) And yes:) She's four. lol. Maybe that answer was a little more on topic:)
