Funny - or not so funny week with Chili

    So.

Long story short, I was using a stump to get on Chili, stump has bark, bark breaks, Michele falls. I hit my butt the hardest, which compressed my back and SOMEHOW knocked the breath outta me. Scraped my arm on the way down too. And to top it off, I ripped my fave pair of jeans - that just now fit again!

Went out to spend a few quality moments with horses and hubby and as I'm saying goodnight to Chili (yes, I tell her goodnight), I rub betwen her ears while her head is chomping on grass (when isn't it!?) and she moves forward - onto my slipper laden foot. EGADS that hurt. Not nearly as much as my butt...

And all this and I still have a broken foot, so instead of limping, I'm now hobbling with my dear sweet hubby laughing at me. At least he thought before smacking my backside earlier!!!

Wonder what tomorrow holds? A bitten finger?

You have a broken foot and you're riding?

Is Chele shod? That makes it extra painful. Mac JUMPED onto my foot last summer during a spook while I was detacking him. Caught my two smallest toes only. DA!n! That hurt really bad.

Take it easy. Actually, these minor accidents are like a get out of jail card; you have paid your dues, so nothing will happen tomorrow

I broke it (stress fracture) last July and everytime it heals, I break it again. It got to the point where they were either going to do surgery or I learned to deal with the pain. I've learned to deal with it. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis - which is more painful than the break.

    Is Chele shod?
    LMAO
No, CHELE was in her slippers. And No, CHILI is not shod. Thankfully!

I don't know if I feel more for you about the jeans, the foot or the butt... Hmmm.
I'm the same way as far as your foot goes. I shattered my toes kicking something when I was 17, and it seems they just rebreak at random now, so you either get used to it, or you end up sucking at life. If I dismount with too much enthusiasm, they break. If I slip running up stairs, they break. If a horse steps on them... they break. It's gotten so that I know to the cent how much its going to cost at the doctor and have the check written before I get there. They keep trying to talk me into getting pins...No thanks.

I have heard that RA is one of the most painful, crippling, pretty much untreatable things you can endure. Is yours bad? I am terribly sorry to hear about this. I know a couple people that have it, and they are miserable doing normal things, let alone riding. :(

I AM sorry to hear about your jeans. Isn't that like salt in a wound? It's not like you can buy a new pair that will feel any where near as good as an old, faded, just fit back into pair.

I must agree with Tiny: You should be good for awhile! Take advantage!
<3HUGS for your bad day <3

    Dusty: Thanks.

Isn't that the truth about the break? I ran after my daughter one evening and said "ompfh - it's broken again" and didn't even bother going to the doc that time bc the only thing told me to do was put it in the boot cast and walk on crutches for 6-8 wks at a time - not conducive to raising a toddler!!!

RA is just what you mentioned. However. There are meds to treat it to keep it at bay - and I have them. I just haven't taken them lately. Seems like there is always something more important to buy than meds. When I can't deal with the pain, I get the meds. In fact, I've needed them for a couple of weeks and just keep forgetting at this point!! There are days when it's difficult to walk. One of the reasons I got Chili when I did was bc I was scared my riding days were coming to an end and I didn't want to spend (the rest of) my life in regret for the one thing I've wanted my entire life!

Yes, the jeans sucked! I should post a photo of them. And of my butt... Naw, guess I'll just let that one slide. LOL

And thanks. I appreciate it. Now, if I wreck my truck on the way to get hay and grain - I'm hollerin' at the two of you!

I'd say NOT! Don't you love how doctors just think you can take all the time in the world to heal, the yell at you 'I told you to stay off it, you didn't listen!' K, Doc, I shall chain my child to a kitchen chair and park her/him in front of a television for 6 weeks, sound good?

I don't blame you for your decision to get Chili and when or why. That's really great that you will have this chance and not look back with regret. That you are still riding now is amazing. I got it about the meds and I am glad you have them and that so far you are still able to go for a bit without them. That's awesome.

Guess that leaves chewing gum outta the equation then since I seem to bite it each time I chew.
