    Games for horse party?

My dear Lia's 18th birthday is tomorrow and I'm going to throw her a little party. I thought it would be fun to have a few of her horse friends over for games and cake. So far we're planning to bob for apples, do an obstacle course, and go for a trail ride. Do you have any other ideas for games for a horse's party? :)

Pole bending and barrel racing would be easy to set up, just get some cones or buckets.

That's a good idea! I could probably incorporate that into the obstacle course. Thanks! :)

Human dressage contest! I think I'd die laughing seeing someone extended trot and piaffe.

Needle in the haystack w/candy. Stick horse race. Scavenger hunt. Horse shoes.

As long as you know how to laugh at yourself this is great fun.
When I was taking "lessons" with my 4H group one of the leaders would make us run every pattern we did, no matter what it was, on foot, before we could do it on horseback. Correct leads and everything.

That's awesome! My birthdays this weekend....I might just have to steal some of these ideas myself.
And what's a life if you can't laugh at yourself?

Haha! Great ideas everyone. I should probably clarify that this is a party for horses, not a horse-themed party for humans. So all the games are for the horses to play on the ground or mounted.
