Gelding or Mare????

I foster a horse for a OTTB rescue. The one I am fostering now, I am bringing back tomorrow. I'm just debating on whether I should bring home a mare or gelding next.

I have three mares of my own. The foster will be turned out with 1 mare. So far that mare has gotten along with anyone I've put with her.

Any suggestions???

I'd just bring home the one I liked the best.

I got a cute little dark bay gelding. He has the worst rain rot I have ever seen :(

If do the one in worst shape. But I do girls with girls and boys with boys at my house. Seems easier. Geldings I've known get really attached to mares easy, and it can be a pain
