Going to look at this horse Saturday!

For my Senior project I've decided to train a horse for dressage, with the help of my mentor/instructor which I'll be meeting with at least three times and for at least five hours. LOL. I'm going to have WAY more then that though, its just the required time.

This is the first mare that I'll be going to look at (there is also another one on the property that I'll be looking at) Saturday and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get her. Her owner loves me and hopes that I get her and we haven't even met yet. LOL. She is a green broke solid black Morgan/Arabian that is six years old and registered half Morgan. I'll be trying to get her papers but can't promise anything because she was previously rescued and I'll still have to be fattening her up when I bring her home, but by the sounds she'll only need a few hundred more pounds.

I'm so excited! I've always wanted a solid black mare (be it I wanted a QH but Morab will do LOL)!

BTW I'm not going to be buying her just for looks, I'm going to be buying her because of her temperament, on whether or not she has nice gaits for dressage, and ect. AND I know her feet will have to be done when I get her because if you look her toe is quite long, which could be from where she was rescued.

    Bump. Bumpity. Bump. Bump.

Any thoughts on her? I'll be posting conformation pictures when I see her but so far these are all that I have.

    Welcome to the forum!

Why did you decide on her? Although she may be a nice horse, I don't see the great potential for dressage. You may be better served by looking at a breed that is more suitable for the discipline.

    Thankss(:

I haven't decided on her yet, but she's cheap and one of the better looking horse's that I've seen around here for her price. She's a school project and I don't have the money to spend oodles on, and when I sell her I'll be able to double the price and still have it reasonable for the economy.

Also all the horses for her price are either ancient, mini/small pony, or a stock horse that would be better suited for the western discipline. Believe me I wouldn't be looking at her to buy for myself to advance to any real high dressage level. All I want to do with her is train her up to Beg. Novice or Novice, get my school credit and then sell her as an advanced kids pony.
