We decided to do a "favorite things" type of birthday for him.
I have a pirate "happy birthday" banner
on the table -Dinosaur napkins
Pirate spy glass, eye patch, plastic knife, compass
a light up yo-yo
a bottle of grape scented bubbles
and a squishy hairy looking ball
For gifts we have-
A match box car case
a giant sticky slap hand
2 small tubs of "flarp" ( this stuff sounds like farts when you play with it...it is kind of gooey play doh...most entertaing for a 5yo boy)
a rubber bounce ball with a handle...the kind that you can sit on and bounce
and a small voice recorder that has big buttons on it. He can record voices or sounds then play them back a warp the voice really low or fast like a chipmunk.
I was really proud of myself. I spent like $15 at the dollar store for party supplies and around $ 25 at Wal-Mart for the toys.
We always have a home made cake...He chose devil's food with chocolate frosting and vanilla ice cream. We will have grand parent and aunt & uncles over. Birthdays here are small with family. We try to keep it intamate and special. Sleep overs are the wild times here.
Painted, Eli is very good about sharing his toys. I'm SURE he'd let you play with his Flarp!!!!
