And unfortunately, I wont have them to post for about a week or so!
But it was so fun, the photographer and his assistant/ make-up artist were so cool, and funny, it was so easy to get a natural smile for the shots!
It was their first time ever shooting a horse, so they were so amazed by every little thing my horse did, they thought his mo-hawk cut mane was the coolest thing since sliced bread, they were SO psyched to shoot me and Mickey today.
I thought it would be tough, because my barn hosts Dressage Days, a HUGE dressage show over the weekend, and today was chaos enough already at the barn with temp. Boarders trailering in, the indoor arena was filled with temporary stalls and a huge tent was set up outside with MORE temporary stalls and people were running back and forth setting up refreshment tents, prepping the arenas, people were riding, it was busy!
But when the photographer arrived I showed him where the parking was [the usual parking for boarders was taped off to allow trailers in and parking was moved to the fields] we got to the barn, and we got started!
It was strange, I hardly ever wear make-up so having someone professional do it was very unique, she kept my make-up VERY natural to fit the theme, and so I didn't look like a clown.
I did shots in three different outfits one was casual- a striped tank top, some blue jeans and paddock boots, and those were ground shots with my horse. We took those by some flowers and bushes planted around the outdoor arena, and then some more out in a field near the fence and some trees, then me sitting alone in the field.
Then I put on a dress, a purple, flower dress and some black flats. How strange to wear flats and a dress at a barn! Those shots I did some with my horse face to face with him by some fencing, and then some alone leaned up against the barn.
Then I put on some show clothes and did some riding shots, those were fun except for there was a ton of commotion because of the show prep and my horse was very distracted while I was asking him to canter and stuff, so he was at some point riding around with his head up and ears pricked.
It was so fun, and they were taken in the evening so the sun is setting and the light was perfect! My horse was such a ham with the camera, he kept posing really pretty :]
I had so much fun! I'll be sure to post the pictures as soon as I have them!
