Got It For A Steal!

I think this could be a fun thread especially since we just had Black Friday and I know the tack shops near me all had Black Friday/Black Friday Weekend sales.

I don't know about anyone else but I ALWAYS get excited when I can get something for a decent price. There have to be other people that get excited as well.

I hope this could turn into a thread where everyone posts about things they've gotten for a darn good price! The only stipulation is it has to be horse related (so riding clothing, show clothing, tack, boots, halters, horses, etc. So there are a ton!)

I'll start:

Today I went to my favorite local tack shop and started looking through the breeches. I found these "ugly"(well I think they're ugly) breeches at the bottom of a bin. I pulled them out and looked at the price tag and started laughing. Who would pay $50 for these? The lady overheard me and said "Oh my gosh THOSE things! I've been trying to sell them for forever. I'll give them to you for $14." SOLD!

They're a size too big (hello layers!) and they're nice and kind of thick but soft and are going to be GREAT for winter schooling.

Here's my "so ugly they're kind cute" deal. (The socks didn't come with them haha)

Share some of your awesome steals!

See I'm so quirky that I would get so exited over those pants... Totally my style on any day ;)

I recently got a practically brand new supracor pad (200 new) for 60 bucks. I never get that lucky. Happy Christmas to me. (Well, to Max ;)

I was imagining much worse than that! I thought it would be the other way around. All crazy pink with stripes or something like that. :P For 14$ I'd have bought them too for winter schooling, but only if they fit (and not worn with the socks ). I've had too many bad experiences with clothes that were too big for me.

Regretfully I bought nothing this Black Friday, but I am curious to see what others got! :)

Oh! My mare Lemonade absolutely decimates the plain rubber and velcro bell boots. I was looking for new ones ALL black Friday (at a tack auction) and finally found a pair of brand new Classic Equines... for $6.99!! Way too good of a deal . I'm still excited! Can't wait till her stitches heal up to try them out!

Find socks to match and you've created a fun, fashionable outfit.

Haha I know they are atrocious aren't they? Luckily, we don't have any good looking guys around the farm that could see me so I'm okay with wearing them =P Despite their ugliness they are UBER comfy, I swear!

If they were that crazy I don't know if I would have bought them =P If they were black instead of brown I don't think it'd be that bad.

They aren't humungusly big, just a bit long for my taste and a bit loose in the waist but other than that they aren't too bad size wise. I can always put leggings under them for those really cold days.

Awesome! I'm trying so hard to find a good deal on bell boots. I seriously need to stock up, my Appy goes through them like mad!

I actually do have a pair of socks that are multiple shades of pink that would probably look "cute" with these haha.

Remember to share your "smashing"(read in Nigel Thornberry's voice) deals guys! =)

Well, it had nothing to do with black Friday but my all time favorite bargain was a yearling AQHA filly I bought back in 1989 for $200.00. First time I threw a leg over her back it was like she'd been under saddle for years. Only thing I had to teach her was to neck rein and back. Started her at 2 and by 3 years old she was my go to horse for kids and beginners. She gave me 4 colts over her lifetime and I still have 3 and still kicking myself for selling son #2 (even though he has a good forever home). All very good minded geldings just like their mama.
