Grande Prairie Alberta?

Is anyone here from GP Alberta? I'm thinking about moving there as my family all lives there, but I can't seem to find much in terms of horse boarding and events there. Would like to know where there is boarding, other than the track, and what kind of horse community is there.

I don't live in Grande Prairie, but I believe there is a fairly active horse community there. I do know that there is a branch of the Alberta Dressage Association there (see link below). Pony Club also fairly active in that area and there is also a South Peace Horse Club that supports an active equestrian community (see second link).

I grew up in northern alberta and lived in GP for several years, and there is definitely an active horse community up there! I was involved more on the english side of things, not sure about western anymore though. Things are a bit spread out, you may have to travel a little bit to find what you want. There's Garden Hill Farm Equestrian Center, Second Chance Stables, and Pomeroy Arabians (they have a dressage coach teaching out of that facility year round). There's not a lot of shows, but a few dressage/h/j shows every year, as well some eventing, and a decent number of clinics as well. Check out the South Peace Horse Club as well. Hope this helps:)

I have family friends in GP, I know she has a place to board and even goes to Hunter/Jumper shows in the area.

Feel free to PM me and I can give you some more information! I know there is a lot more of a horse community there then here in Fort McMurray lol!
